AC POWER SOURCE, FREQUENCY CONVERTER

VOLTAGE: 0 to 130 Vrms or 0 to 260 Vrms selected on front panel-mounted "Output Range" toggle switch. Outputs are completely isolated and floating with 1500 VAC isolation to ground. Other output voltage ranges can be obtained using accessory T-1005 or T-1007 external transformers.

CURRENT: For reliability, all models of the Titan AC Power Sources/Frequency Converters are fully current limit protected against either continuous or transient short circuit or overload conditions. When an overcurrent condition exists, the internal current control loop overrides the voltage control loop and scales back the sinewave drive until it sees a safe output current level.

Two models of Titan AC Power Sources/Frequency Converters are available. The "standard" models are primarily designed for driving linear loads comprising mainly of R, L, or C's or equivalents, where the current waveform is roughly a sinewave and high peak currents, which could trigger current limiting, are not normally encountered. The "high peak current rated" models (order "H" suffix) can, in general, deliver twice the peak current of the standard version and are better suited for driving non-linear loads that often require high transient peak currents for short periods of time or repetitive high peak currents for small conduction angles. Typical loads that would be better driven by these "H" units are:

1.	Non power factor corrected peak rectified AC to DC power supplies (switchers and linears) that generally have small conduction angles and high peak currents resulting in poor power factors.
2.	Incandescent lighting systems that require a short term, high turn-on current to initially heat the filament to its high resistance state.
3.	Fluorescent and gas arc-lamp systems whose ballasts often require short term, high current capability on startup.
4.	Switched start winding induction motors (see caution statement in Operating Instruction Manual).

• POWER FACTOR: Stable, full output voltage and current without derating into any reactive load with power factor from unity to zero, leading or lagging. Titan AC Power Sources/Frequency Converters cannot drive asymmetrical current loads such as half-wave rectifiers.
• LINE REGULATION: ± .05% of full output for ± 10% line change.
• LOAD REGULATION:
  0.1% @ 125 Vrms, 0 to I (max), 45 HZ - 5 KHZ
  1% @ 125 Vrms, 0 to I (max), 5 KHZ - 10 KHZ
  1% @ 10 Vrms, 0 to I (max), 45 HZ - 1 KHZ
• FREQUENCY RANGE: Full output 45 HZ to 15 KHZ, derate to 100 Vrms maximum from 15 KHZ to 20 KHZ for approximately 50% of specified VA level. Not recommended for high power use below 45 HZ.
• HARMONIC DISTORTION: 45 HZ to 3 KHZ < 1%, 3 KHZ to 20 KHZ < 3% for linear, resistive load.
• OUTPUT NOISE: 60 db below full output at full rated power output.
• INTERFACE: Output available on front panel from either the five-way color-coded binding posts or standard NEMA #5-15R (0-130 Vrms) or NEMA #6-15R (0-260Vrms) receptacles. Output is also available at rear-mounted terminal block. Caution, hazardous voltage can exist on all output terminals!
• OVERLOAD PROTECTION: Outputs are completely overload and short-circuit protected.
• MONITORING: Full digital panel-meter monitoring of frequency, voltage and current is available with MOS-01/-01A manual oscillator plug-in.

• LINE VOLTAGE: 105 to 135 Vrms, 47 to 63 HZ, single phase.
• LINE CURRENT: Recommended "service" amperage capacity for MAC-01 is 19 amps, MAC-02 is 11 amps, MAC-03 is 3 amps. Internal soft-start power supply limits inrush current to a safe level.
• LINE INTERFACE: 6.5 foot line cord with molded plug NEMA #5-20P on MAC-01 and #5-15P on MAC-02 and -03. Always tie ground pin to earth ground for safety and proper operation. Do not use ground isolation plugs.
• POWER TRANSFER EFFICIENCY: 70% to 82% typical.
• SIGNAL INPUT: Sinewave drive supplied internally via MOS-01/-01A plug-in manual oscillators or any waveform can be input externally (0 to 1.1 Vrms for full scale output) at BNC input connector on MOS-01/-01A or EIM-01. One of these plug-ins must be used and factory installed to insure safety and warranty (see separate data sheets for details). Computer buss control can be accomplished with any outboard signal source or Compact Power supplied SG-100/-100B external stand-alone oscillators.

• STORAGE TEMPERATURE RANGE: -55° C to +85° C
• COOLING: Whisper quiet, left to right, rear chassis forced-air cooling. Overtemp shutdown if air is blocked.
• OPERATING HUMIDITY RANGE: 0% to 95% non-condensing.
• CONTROLS AND INDICATORS: Illuminated Power ON/OFF rocker switch, AC line circuit breakers, Output Range 130V/260V toggle switch, Output Enable ON/OFF toggle switch, Caution High Voltage panel light. All other controls are on oscillator plug-in (see individual data sheets).
• SIZE & WEIGHT: All models are standard 3U rack mount i.e. 5.25" H X 19"W X 13.5"D. Weights are MAC-01 = 56lbs.,
  MAC-02 = 37lbs., MAC-03 = 27lbs.
• FINISH: Gold irridite-plated steel main chassis. Front panel is high-durability satin beige with black lettering.
• MULTIPLE UNIT OPERATION: Multiple MAC-01S or MAC-01SH "S" suffix units can be tied together in series for up to 6KVA output. For greater than 6KVA, consult factory.
